Hot on track for a release almost exactly one year after its initial version-one debut, the new Picturesque 2.0 dropped its old inspector-based interface in favor of using a “toolbar” to apply effects to images. As a result, its creators required a slew of new toolbar icons to graphically depict each of the eight new toolbar items – Background, Perspective, Reflection, Shadow, Curve, Stroke, Crop and Presets. After going through multiple iterations of each icon to find the best metaphors, we also designed the disk image background art, crafted miscellaneous buttons and glyphs, and provided usability consulting services.
